Winter Festivals and Family Day

Sophiasburgh Winter Festival – Friday & Saturday February 12th – 13th

The fesitival kicks off at the historic Sophiasburgh Town Hall with a Xmas tree bonfire (BYOT) & family skate. Warm up with hot chocolate and hot dogs. Saturday morning Friendship United is hosting a family breakfast with Disney’s Olaf. In the Town Hall during the “Battle of the blazes” hockey tournament the Women’s Institute is having a chili cook off lunch.

Listen to live Celtic music in the afternoon with Seventh Town and enjoy horse drawn sleigh rides. Thanks to Sophiasburgh’s finest firefighters the day ends off with a Pickerel Fish Fry!

Winterfest at Sandbanks – Monday, February 15th 12:20 – 3:30 p.m.

The Friends of Sandbanks www.friendsofsandbanks.org have sponsored a day at the Maple Rest Heritage House on PE County Road 12. Outdoor fun includes Cross Country Skiing, tobogganing, and snowshoeing and warm up by the bonfire. Come indoors for heart-warming chili, hot chocolate, tea and coffee. Enjoy children’s activities, live music with Mark Despault and friends. They would love to have you join in on the “Kitchen Party Jam so bring your instrument.

Wesley Acres Family Day Weekend – Sunday & Monday February 14th – 14th

With Indoor & Outdoor events planned on both Sunday and Monday come for the whole weekend or just for a day. Join other families in tug of war, skating, cross country skiing, floor hockey and tractor wagon rides then gather around the bonfire to roast wieners and marshmallows. Family Day at The Acoustic Grill – Monday, February 15th

Give back to the Community through live music. Stop by with your old instruments and accessories that can be reused. The instruments will be donated to local schools, libraries, youth bands. So join us family day for a free appetizer, great tunes and community spirit!

Doug Leahy, together with his wife Jennifer and their children, are keeping traditions alive through music, song, and dance. The Family Day concert begins a 4:00 p.m. at the Regent Theatre in Picton

County Storytelling Festival Family Day – Monday February 15th

The House of Falconer is hosting The County Storytelling Festival Family Day Party. Local performers sing, dance and act and share stories about County Life. All ages welcome and admission is a food bank donation.

Ski-Doo Suit Ski Bunny Dance Party – Saturday, February 13th

Dance all afternoon at Karlo Estates to the tunes of DJ Ombudsman and stay warm on the heated sundeck. Stew is served with crusty bread for $5, wine will be sold by the glass. Sandy Macpherson – Ocean racing Presentation – Friday, February 26th

Sandy MacphersonPrince Edward Yacht Club is hosting a presentation by Sandy Macpherson, the youngest person to ever compete in the Vendee Globe and will be the first Canadian to finish. Sandy will share his background as well as photos and video of his 7000 miles sailing ‘O Canada’ from Vancouver to Toronto this past summer.

Comedian Mark Forward – Saturday, February 27th

Regent Theatre presents Mark Forward a multi Canadian Comedy Award Winner, and has two appearances on the Late Late Show. Mark is also known for his critically acclaimed comedy album Things I Thought Of.

Whattam’s FREE Family Movie – Sunday February 28th

The Last Sunday of every month at 2:00pm Whattam’s sponsors a Regent Theatre family movie and yes it’s free admission!
